This is a fantastic Murphy bed! Make sure you have 2-3 people to help with it because it is HEAVY! The instructions are sooo easy if you follow them step by step and don’t skip over them.
I have to admit, there were quite a few pieces to work with, but surprisingly, they were a breeze to put together, thanks to the clear instructions. It took me around four hours to complete the assembly, but the result was absolutely fantastic. I was apprehensive when I first opened the box, but after going through the instructions, I felt confident and thought, "I've got this." To ensure I understood well, I even watched a bed frame assembly video on YouTube. It paid off! I'm thrilled with how it turned out - the beauty and comfort it adds to the room is invaluable. I only gave it four stars because I encountered a few missing screws, but they weren't crucial to the stability of the headboard, so it didn't affect the outcome much.
I am very disappointed in the instructions. I have been working on this for 2 hours and 15 minutes now and I am still not finished with it. The instructions are confusing because they mislabeled the parts in the guide as shown in the picture. In the instructions on Step 6 it says “Please connect part (13) to part (5), connect part (14) to part (6) with the bolt (B)” and this is COMPLETELY INCORRECT!! Not only is the part mislabeled in the instructions, it’s also the opposite of what it should be. It SHOULD say: “ Please connect part (14) to part (5), connect part (15) to part (6) with the bolt (B)”. They also mislabeled those parts in the picture and it’s showing part 13 when part 13 is on the bottom and was done already in Step 4. There is no part 13 that is being used in Step 6. ONLY parts 14 and 15 are being added onto the sides. When trying to add in part 15 to 6 there is no hole in the headboard at the top going through the fabric all the way. They forgot to finish the hole so now I will need to cut it out myself as pictured as well. I am disappointed in this process and the fact it’s taking more than 2 hours to put together.
This bed took me about 4 hours to complete, maybe a tad more. I put this together by myself for the most part until I reached section #2. Then I needed my daughter to hold up the headboard. It’s a heavy bed. This part took some time trying to screw the (mirror metal G parts on). Finally I realized if I just left off the #8 flat washer piece I had enough room to screw in #2 screws. The bed takes a lot of time putting together but the instructions were easy to read, lots of pieces but once the bed is all done, it’s super sturdy. This is platform bed that doesn’t require a box spring but my daughter wanted her bed high so we used one. It looks exactly like the picture. Feels high quality, it’s so soft and elegant looking. We plan to have this bed a long time. The only negative I have about this bed is that it had a very strong odor. Not a bad odor but a smell that resembles plastic and what new shoes smell like. Is my best description. I had to keep the fan on for a week to air it out my house. But now the smell is completely gone. We love this bed, it far exceeded my expectations.
It wasn’t hard to put together at all. It fits a regular mattress in a box well. It’s very sturdy. My 9 year old daughter absolutely loves it.
The bed looks nice and seems sturdy, but assembly was a royal pain. The pieces don’t fit together totally perfect so it takes some time get them just right. You have to add the legs after you put the slats in which makes it hard to access. The hardware package in my box was split open inside the box, and the screws and washers went everywhere when I opened the box. Overall: looks nice, but technical design, assembly process, and instructions could be much better. NB it is designed only for a mattress and not mattress and box spring.
We purchased this looking for some extra storage for clothes and surprisingly this is a nice piece of furniture. The instructions were simple and the frame itself is well made. Early on in the assembly I thought it was flimsy but turns out I was wrong LOL. The only thing that is a little weird is that with no box spring it is really low and with the box spring it actually sits up at a decent height and can still use the shelf’s. So you can use with or without the box springs I had no issues either way. I would recommend this product.
The bed was well packaged with clear diagrams that made it easy to assemble, and everything goes together with the hex key (Allen wrench) included in the hardware package. In less than 2 hours I unpackaged, inspected all the parts and laid them out, disassembled my old bed, assembled the new one, put the mattress in place, and made the bed. For reference, I'm a nearly 70 year old woman and I did it all without any assistance. I love the height of this bed as well as the 16" clearance under it! I already had a bed that was the same height and under-bed clearance, but I missed having a headboard and the design of my bed did not easily accommodate adding one, due to its rounded outer legs with a couple screw holes on the inside of the legs. I just couldn't find brackets that would fit. After much searching, I found it was cheaper to just buy a whole new bed and I'm happy I found this one. The only thing I would change is to add some mattress retaining brackets to prevent the mattress from slipping as you get in and out of the bed. I just ordered some from another vendor, but had I known they might be necessary, I would have ordered them the same day I ordered the bed so I could have assembled everything at once. I'm giving a 5 star rating anyway, because the bed itself is well made, sturdy, and quiet. And since there are a number of different styles of mattress retaining brackets on the market for under $20, it makes sense to buy the ones you like best.
Sturdy quality and easy to assemble.
This bed is supposed to have 13 inches clearance under the bed. It only has 12 buyer. Beware the bed is very low quality all of the metal bends the legs all bend it was very difficult to put together which would’ve been OK if the bed was worth it fortunately I weigh 120 pounds and it’s just me in the bed. Otherwise I do not think it would hold up, I’m extremely disappointed
I was looking for an inexpensive, yet attractive bedframe for my apartment. Although it takes quite a while to assemble, the end product is actually pretty attractive and sturdy - but read my suggestions below. The two drawers at the foot end of the bed are not on tracks, so when you go to slide them back into place you may have to nudge them around a little bit - not a big deal. They take up pretty much the full width of the foot end of the bed, so if you pull one out, then go to slide it back in and you’re half inch off left or right, you’ll have to nudge it around a little bit to get it to fit into place. Again, not a big deal at all at this price point. I do not have a boxspring for my mattress because my last bed frame had deep drawers underneath it all the way around which elevated the bed, and it had a solid wood base to put my mattress on. I would highly recommend if you do not have a boxspring, to put plywood down on top of the supports that come with the bed before you put your mattress on. If you don’t, your mattress will begin to sink between the slats that it comes with. If you have a box spring, then you’re OK. Mine is a king size bed, so it took two sheets of plywood that needed to be trimmed down - no need to screw the plywood into place, there’s actually a half inch deep area around the bed where the plywood fits perfectly. I went to Home Depot with my measurements and they cut the plywood for me - no charge. There is an upright support post on each side of the bed at the very edge, which within my first two nights I wound up accidentally kicking with a toe. To avoid that ever happening again, I took a pool noodle “float,” cut it to the right length and wrapped it around those vertical supports/legs, then covered that with a piece of faux leather, and it actually looks quite attractive (I’ll post a photo here). If you put that kind of padding on after you have a mattress in place, it’ll be extremely difficult to try and lift the bed to slide that foam cover on - I have a king size and couldn’t lift it with one hand to slide the foam on with the other. If you’re going to do what I did and install a foam noodle, your best bet is to slide that foam over the vertical leg before you bolt the leg to the bed. I can’t remember if the instructions said to assemble everything loosely before giving a final tightening, but when it comes to the headboard, you absolutely need to do that - loosely install all the screws at the headboard, but definitely do not tighten them down until every screw is in place. Then tighten the entire headboard assembly as a unit and continue on with the rest of the bed, tightening in phases as you go along.
Two of the holes in each of a,b,c and d were not pre drilled. The hole alignment for the holes that were drilled were not correctly done. This caused me to properly drill each of the holes. Then when fully assembly was complete on the base frame, the slats did not properly fit. This caused me to force several of the flats. I have provided pictures of the holes I had to drill to allow the F frames to be installed and you can see how the frame is not square after slats were installed. The bed frame is functional but only after I spent 2 hours modifying the frame and it is still not 100% square.
Great frame! Low enough for my chiweenie to jump on, you’ll really need a power tool unless you’re good with your fingers and Allen wrenches. Took my sister and I a total of 8hrs to put together. 😅 so happy to have done. Only reason for 4⭐️ is because I received a broken door catcher. I’m not too worried about it as obviously the door is still useful without it but it will spin all around. Thankfully unlike other reviews mine did NOT come in with any stinky smells. ***YOU WILL NEED 2 PEOPLE TO CARRY BOX *** when it came in I tried picking up not realizing the box was 81.5LBS. Heavy!! No box spring needed, everything fit great. Extra screws are hopefully normal (will come back if this changes and we forgot to add some somewhere😂😂)
Extremely easy assembly, the instructions recommend to be assembled by two people and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to do it because I have no one to help me out but, I did it myself, it was super easy and the result is beautiful
Just what I was looking for. Simple modern and cute. Easy to put together
