My review addresses the quality of construction, and how to remedy the flaws. I would not install this in a rental property; get a metal frame bunk bed instead. OK at home or a vacation home. This is made from New Zealand pine. A good solid wood with few cosmetic flaws. The wood is brittle, which contributes to the structural failures described by reviewers. Very nice finish but with some odor that takes a few weeks to dissipate. It is NOT toxic, as claimed by some reviewers. I purchased the full over full, with twin trundle. First, the assembly takes a good amount of time, 6-8 hours minimum to do a good job, without the modifications described below. Second, the assembled bunks were very solid without any play (unlike other reviewers). You MUST fully and firmly screw in the hardware to achieve the rigidity. The head of the hex head screws sits below the level of wood. Some fasteners required quite a bit of torque to fully engage, ultimately twisting the metal of the supplied hex-wrench. Be meticulous, but be sure to not over-tighten. The trundle construction quality is crap. Far weaker construction with inferior doweled joints in comparison to the bunk. Now about the flaws. Reviewers describe 2 major failure points: 1. Fracture of the slats under the mattress. 2. Fracture of the longitudinal frame rail across the lower bunk. Here is how I addressed these failure points: 1. I added 6 1x4 tight knot pine slats between the supplied slats. Add these before screwing down the supplied slats. I think 1x3 would be fine or preferable, but my lumber yard doesn't stock this dimension. I stapled the slats to the strap interconnecting the supplied straps, but did not screw them to the side rails to allow a bit of flexion. This looks and feels REALLY solid. 2. I added to the longitudinal front side frame rail a zinc plated steel flat plate 1" wide, 1/8" thick, 72" long purchased at Lowes. I didn't add this to the back side rail since the weight causing the failure will be on the front side. Be sure to leave a gap between the slats and the frame rail to accommodate insertion of the flat plate. Attach to the side rails with 12 round head wood screws, #10, 3/4" long. Drill 7/32" holes in the steel flat plate, 1/8 " in the wood rail. Prior to attaching the flat plate, the side rail had a subtle but real deflection with my weight; I can understand why this would fail. After attachment of the flat plate, I could detect zero deflection, solid as a rock. 3. The trundle is hopeless. I glued the dowels and added slats to the mattress support. If it lasts a year I'll be thrilled.
Godsend for those who live to stow underneath bed at 18 inches above ground! No need for bed risers! Came in this very manageable pkg that my compressed mattress got beat out by, see picture. And easy to put to put together with hex key provided. Sturdy for 12’mattress you would not believe. Needs rubberized feet/felt pads so as to not skid nor scratch and mattress gaskettes for certain!! Very bare minimum but allows so much by wonderful notches on front and ends of. Doesn’t easily scrape the coating and space conscious design of flat and not rounded.
This seems like a really nice bed frame for the price, it looks great and it's extremely sturdy. It was also pretty easy to put together, especially because it came with a ratcheting hex key which I thought was nice to include and just made assembly that much faster. I'm only giving 4 stars though because the paint was scratched out of the box on a pretty visible part of the end of the bed, and a bunch of parts had grease all over the ends of them from the factory.
Really easy to assemble, how ever they only give you the exact amount of nuts, bolts, screws etc to work with no extra. Also it definitely doesn’t feel as sturdy as I thought it would for the price.
Manufacturer drilled holes for the legs on wrong side of beam. Tried flipping beam however the slats for the frame wouldn’t touch the beam so wasn’t able to flip it. Legs do not fit on opposite end of support beam. Contacted manufacturer and no response. It’s a great bed frame so far, minus that I had to purchase seperate legs, raising an additional cost and time.
The structuring of the bed, the supports and thoughtfulness of the engineering is great! There are so many twin frames that are sketchy or weak. This is amazing! I would buy this again! I am considering getting another so she could have another bed for sleepovers! This is a great buy! I highly HIGHLY recommend this frame. This has everythi g you could want in a bedframe: quality, ease of assembly/disassembly/reassembly, lightweight and sturdiness. All the thumbs ups.
So, when I purchased this bed I didn’t realize a box spring wasn’t needed. My bed is brand new so I didn’t wanna get rid of my bed. I just bought my house and needed a bed frame desperately. I ended up keeping my box spring on it and it sits really high but I love it!! I feel like a queen. This bed frame took me roughly an hour to put together and it was very easy. It doesn’t move, it doesn’t squeak, it’s very sturdy and exactly like the picture. I’m so satisfied with this purchase. Probably one of my most favorite things I’ve bought off bargainbeddingusa.com!
I recently purchased the VECELO 14 Inch Twin Size Metal Platform Bed Frame with Headboard and Footboard in Pink for my 4-year-old daughter, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. First off, the product arrived earlier than expected and was in perfect condition. Every piece was accounted for, and nothing was missing—always a plus when you’re eager to assemble furniture! One of the main reasons I opted for this twin size bed instead of a toddler bed is that my daughter is tall for her age—she could easily pass for a 6-year-old. I wanted a bed that would give her plenty of space to grow into, and this platform bed fits the bill perfectly. It’s sturdy, stylish, and functional, with a headboard and footboard that add a lovely, finished look to her room. Assembly was a breeze! I was able to put it together all by myself in about an hour, which speaks volumes about how straightforward the instructions were. The frame is lightweight, which made it easy to move around as I built it, yet it feels sturdy and solid once constructed. The steel slat support is a great feature—no box spring needed—which is convenient and saves me extra costs. Plus, the pink color adds a nice, cheerful touch, making it perfect for a child’s room. In terms of design, it’s both minimal and elegant, and I appreciate how the frame elevates the mattress just the right amount. This bed offers excellent durability without sacrificing aesthetics, making it a great value for the price. If you’re looking for a bed that’s easy to assemble, stylish, and built to last, I highly recommend the VECELO Metal Platform Bed. It’s a smart choice for parents looking to upgrade their child’s sleeping setup, and your little one is sure to love it! Go ahead and make the purchase—you won’t regret it!
It’s not too difficult to put together but the screws they have you use to put the headboard on the frame pierce through the lamination on the other side. I shouldn’t have any high expectations of a product when I the instructions that came with is riddled with simple spelling errors even on the word “step” The matress also slips around
Seems like a pretty sturdy setup so far. Some of the pieces had minor damage (dents, scratches, hairline cracks) but came in decent shape for the most part. This is an absolute beast to put together. I did it myself and it took 14 hours….and that was not including the time it took to take out all the pieces from the 3 boxes and organize them all to ensure I had all the parts and pieces needed prior to beginning assembly. Some of the pictures in the instructions aren’t very clear, so I had to redo a couple of steps after realizing something was oriented the wrong way, but overall, if the instructions are meticulously followed, it’s fairly straightforward. Just extremely time-consuming. My daughter is really happy with the result though, so all worth it in the end.
I took a chance with this bed frame and I can’t decide if I regret it or not. Most pieces were delivered with dents in them. The metal is extremely thin, so I imagine any small bump the shipping box took left a dent on the bed frame. Other “budget” bed frames I’ve purchased have had more beat up boxes and were in better condition, so I believe it is because of the low quality metal used. The overall look is great and exactly what I wanted. From a distance it looks like a great bed. Once you look closer, however, you notice the details. The most dented pieces were the headboard, the most visible part. The head board is also the part where the pieces fit together the worst. There are noticeable 1/4 inch gaps present between the vertical metal pieces on the headboard and some of the horizontal pieces. I have built a lot of bed frames and furniture and have never had this many issues getting items to fit together properly. I finally gave up and said “Hopefully it’s not that noticeable” (spoiler alert: it is that noticeable). I later decided to measure the pieces and, sure enough, the two that had the 1/4 inch gap were 1/4 inch shorter. They all have the same “C” sticker on them, so it’s clearly a quality control issue. I want to love this bed frame because it wasn’t bad for the price I paid, but I keep finding myself wishing I had paid slightly more for a higher quality item.
Bought this as a temporary solution for my child since we just recently moved. It did come scraped, scratched, and one part was bent up. It will be fine until we get another bedframe. It was easy to build. All the parts were included. The quality is what you paid for.
It’s a good quality, after hearing some reviews I was worried but everything was in good shape and sturdy, overall a good purchase. That said I would like to point out some flaws that I wasn’t expecting. First it’s very short, I guess I was expecting something that reached up higher but without a boxspring it feels like I’m on the floor. It’s my fault for not checking the measurements, I’ve included a picture with a blu-ray for scale Next is that it’s insanely heavy so make sure you have someone available unlike I did or you’ll have to carry it alone, possibly upstairs like me. Lastly the drawers sometimes make a squeaking noise of the knobs rubbing in the lock area when moving in bed, quick adjustment solves it but it happens often That’s all I have to say really, take it as you will.
Came with some spots on the side that I couldn’t take off. Nice color.
This company gets no stars. In fact they get less than the stars. They get negative stars. Don’t ever purchase anything from this company. Are much anticipated walnut trundle bed was a nightmare right from the beginning. The box was tore up from the floor up, but have you been well packaged on the inside? We didn’t think there would be nearly as much damage as there was And the damage that was done wasn’t from shipping. There were chunks missing out of the wood you would try to screw in one of the bolts and it would immediately crack this, fake ass press board bed, so cheaply made it was unreal and I don’t know how it could possibly hold a mattress let alone a mattress and a person without breaking. They were blue streaks all throughout the wood. There were no holes drilled where there were supposed to be holes drilled for the bolts to go through. They were missing pieces and pieces that had holes for pegs where they were supposed to be screws and holes for screws where there should’ve been pegs and no, it wasn’t that it was put together backwards. It was that they had drilled them backwards and then we were missing essential parts that prevented it from even being put together to completion, even though my daughter sat there and drilled new holes in the bed to try to make it work after doing research later on on this company, it was very, very disappointing to see the number of people that this particular company Mary has screwed over. We had no luck getting a hold of them no one ever answers. I wonder why that is do yourself a favor don’t ever buy from them. The final draw was figuring out that all of the slats that hold the mattress they’re supposed to be a hole drilled for you to screw the slats into the sideboard, but there are no holes for the screws to go into none not a single hole had been drilled now it’s not pictured below because those pictures don’t even do it justice because I wasn’t planning on posting them, but then changed my mind at the last minute. Maybe I’ll post some more later Like an update as we burn it in the parking lot cause that’s about all it’s good for as firewood. Besides them/were so skinny I was afraid to put that mattress on there, let alone put a mattress in a person on there. You go right through it. It was pressboard like thin pieces of plywood. They were glued together, and every single piece cracked the minute you put a bolt through it even though some of them were actually pre-drilled like I think five maybe of the holes possibly
