   There was a bit of confusion getting it assembled, however it got done. The middle lost under the best frame quickly bent and left no support in the centre of the frame. The frame wiggles from side tobside with every movement and feels as though it will break any day…

   When we opened the box and looked at all the pieces, it appeared that this bed would not be very sturdy. However, after assembling the product, it came together to form a strong, sturdy frame. Pros…very classy looking. Nice fabric, workmanship and overall design. Cons…the headboard is a bit lower than I was expecting. Our room has high ceilings and the scale is a little off. It should be fine in a typical 8-9 foot room. It might look like the holes do not line up, but tapping the frame with a mallet will align the parts to form a sturdy connection. It was a tedius process to build this bed. Overall a good looking bed …recommend with 4 stars.

   I ordered this bed back in mid September. When it arrived I assembled it (fairly easy to do) and realized the middle post was severely bent. This post is crucial for assembly as it holds together the middle beam dead center of the bed. I assembled it any ways and slept in it one night and had to leave town for work. I returned a week later and after sleeping in the bed for a week+, the bed was VERY squeak and wobly also saggs in the middle because the bent middle post. I reached out to LUCID and they responded promptly asking for a copy of my receipt and a phone number and any pictures (although I included a pic of the bent post in my original email). I sent that immediately. 25 hours later they responded asking for a pic of the frame and again my phone number. I sent that immediately. A week later, they sent the same email asking for a Pic of the frame and my phone number. I replied, stating that I already sent the picture and my phone number on my previous email but if I need to again let me know and I will resend. 3 Weeks now and crickets. I emailed them today and asked to at least be able to purchase the middle post as I cannot sleep in the bed anymore because it saggs too much and is very squeaky without that stability post. The only review I can give is TERRIBLE customer service and makes for a bad night sleep,. Maybe if it gets resolved I can update this review.

   This bed frame looks amazing. The instructions to assemble the bed was alittle off. I feel like it’s a little to expensive for the quality but so far it works great. There are some room left when placing a queen size mattress on it. The corner of my mattress is round shaped. Better if it was squared shaped mattress. But overall it looks great.

   Well, here we are, more than 100 years into standardized bed sizes that were so set as to facilitate ALL beds and frames, no matter the manufacturer or builder, fitting one another properly, but still, it seems manufacturers today are too inept, or careless, to follow them. As is shown in the photos, this Lucid frame is a solid six inches too long for a standard Twin XL mattress. I am so disappointed, and frustrated (returning these is going to be a nightmare, and I am sure the company is banking on that, betting most people won’t go through the time and physical expense of doing so). And, to be sure I hadn’t somehow ordered a Twin mattress instead of Twin XL, I measured it, too, and it is 79in long, which is reasonable since a twin xl bed frame’s footprint (the part where the mattress sits) should be 80 inches +/- 1 inch or so, and it confirms this frame is just plain too long for the corresponding mattress size, period. Long and the short of it is there is no way to make this reasonably work with, not without some time and money-consuming hack, either you push the mattress against the headboard and you have a giant, awkward, ugly chasm at the bottom to look at and to try to remember is there so as to physically avoid it, or you pull the mattress down flush with the foot end of the bed and you have a six inch gap for everything to fall through where your pillows are and head and hands lay while you’re asleep. If you choose the more obvious choice of pushed against the headboard end and a guest is lying or lounging on the bed and don’t know about (or forget about) the six inch TRAP of a gap at the foot end and they quickly shimmy down or otherwise exit out of bed the bed byway the end instead of the side, they can easily, injure themselves, as instead of their foot or feet sliding off (and onto the ground below as their brain expects because that is normal exit procedure with properly sized mattresses and frames), their foot or feet might slide off the end and right into that gap (or hit it on the end). They could get a foot stuck or scraped or ankle twisted , especially since they probably had some momentum going into it. Gaps are dangerous that way (and this is why we have industry standards!). I don’t have much more to say except 1. I regret buying TWO of these for my new guest room, and 2. GET YOUR ISH TOGETHER, LUCID. It doesn’t matter how sturdy or attractive something like this is, if it is sized improperly for normal and safe function then it’s not going to cut it., even at this relatively modest price point. The first job and really the ONLY job a bed frame performs is to properly hold a mattress. If it can’t meet that standard it’s a piece of junk. This is, therefore, a piece of junk not worth your time, money, or effort. Avoid until they fix this sizing issue (which, who am I kidding, they probably never will).

    We bought the king size bed. It looks super nice and modern. It was easy to assemble, but time consuming and definitely needed someone to help hold the pieces while putting together. The center legs bent after about 6 months. The company has sent a completely new support frame to go underneath of the mattress free of charge. They were responsive within 24 hours and very friendly and wanted to know how they could help make the experience better. I definitely recommend this bed and company.

    Another Update: I changed my stars again from 1 star to 2 stars, because I contacted Lucid, and I was completely reimbursed. I had to send photos of the broken bed, along with my proof of purchase. I was kindly sent a check. I’m grateful about that. Thank you, Lucid, for not making this more difficult. Update: This twin XL was for my guest room. It has barely been used. It’s been slept in, easily less than a month. My son has been visiting over the holidays and he is 6 feet tall and about 195 lbs. the slats under the bed broke. He came downstairs this morning and told me that he had to put the mattress in the floor. So now I’d give one star. Just assembled bed and it’s lovely. I don’t know how well it will hold up though as it hasn’t even been slept on. I included a photo because had I known before buying, I would not have gotten a 10 inch mattress. Due to its thickness, it hangs over the end/foot a bit. If the mattress had been thinner (8 inch or less) it might have tucked under the headboard a bit, and would not have hung over at the foot of the bed. I’m sure a bed spread will cover this. Assembly was fairly simple. I have assembled a LOT of furniture and this bed had a few very minor issues. Holes did not line up well so some screws are somewhat at an angle and do not feels as secure as they maybe could. All parts were there, nothing missing. It was packaged well so that there were no scratches or damage. It is an inexpensive bed for our guest room so I am happy with it. Will it last for years with daily use? I am uncertain. Its a bit flimsy maybe.

    What can I say I looks great, is solid and does not make any noise if you toss and turn at night. If you get one of the bigger sizes Queen, King, etc, it is not the easiest to put together alone, but it is do able. I suggest 2 people though. It makes things easier and will not take you 4 hours to put together that way. Also the box is heavy for the king size so best of luck there.

    Now I should also mention that part of the support is a solid piece of black wood, probably particular board with a laminate coating but solid enough, that connects the side boards and is very close to the edge of the bed. So if you are walking along to close to the bed and are not careful you will stub your toes, possible several times, but eventually you will learn not to do that. Or at the very least to be very careful around the middle of the bed late at night.

    Dont worry the cast will come off eventually and you will be fine.

    It is a solid bed frame and does work really well.
