The assembly of the bunk bed was pretty easy and we had it together in about 2+ hours. A drill was very helpful in the process.
The materials used to construct the bed seem to be fairly decent and sturdy.
The negative things about the bed so far is that it nicks VERY easily. The slightest bump with anything leaves a dent and and takes the finish off, even something as small as a button on a shirt, or ring on a finger. I’ve purchased stain pens to cover marks and they work well so far, but dents are still visible.
One thing that really bothers me is that the bed is not espresso, which is typically a dark brown stain. It is very red in hue, very similar to mahogany. All the wooden furniture in my sons room is varying brown colours, and the red really clashes, so please note when ordering if you care about that sort of thing.

It looks nice. It wasn’t impossible to build. But there were numerous dents, scrapes and scratches all over, and not small ones. And there is no protection for the kids from splinters on the bed slats, they scrape all over the top mattress and rain splinters down onto the bottom mattress. Is there something that was supposed to come with this bed to cover the underside of the top bunk?

For the price I feel that my sons have a great new bunkbed. The expresso finish is beautiful and it looks like we paid twice as much as we did. Assembly took 3 hours and you have to pay very close attention to the instructions. I dropped two stars bc I do think the slats should have more support on bottom bunk, there were screws missing and there was some minor damage on wood. The top bunk lower rail was damaged; looks like another box was thrown haphazardly on top of our box leaving the rail crushed in a 4″ area; could’ve been warehouse or shipper but we’ll never know. Over all a very solid/sturdy bunkbed that looks beautiful. We experienced no cracks in wood as reported in other reviews which is a relief. Again, for the price…we’re pleased.

This bunk bed was very easy to assemble with clear directions and all parts were packaged nicely. It took me about 2 hours with my 4 and 5 yr olds helping. To speed up the process I used a drill with the hex bit. Some of the screws have to go in pretty far and with the supplied allen key, it was a pain. It seems very sturdy once assembled, the top bunk fits on the bottom with very large wooden dowels so you can unstack later on if needed.
The box was pretty big, obviously, and weighed in around 120 lbs as I recall. Having someone to help you move it around is nice. When you unbox, there are a lot of pieces, so it’s nice to have an open area to lay things out for inventory. All the hardware comes packaged together and labeled nicely which I was very grateful for. The ladder is sturdy, and it can be screwed in place, however, that makes it very difficult to make the bottom bed, so we left it unscrewed. Other than that, I think this is a pretty sweet deal.
Overall it’s a quality bunk bed at an even better price. We haven’t had it up for too long, so we’ll adjust this review as necessary.

I love this bed. We had a metal frame bunk bed that broke in no time at all. So we ordered this one to replace it. This bed is sturdy solid wood. It was easy for me and my husband to put together. We did have some bolts that were the wrong for. They gave to many of the wrong part and not enough of the one we needed. So we went to the hardware store to get the right screws to finish it up. Overall it’s a great bed for the price. Very happy with the purchase
