First of all, the bed looks great and appears to be made with solid wood as opposed to particleboard, which is nice. It was relatively easy to put together, no different from any other piece of furniture like this. This is my child’s first big kid bed and they love it! All that being said, the slats are terrible. Thin, cheap wood and since there’s no center board they bow in the middle. In fact, one bowed so much that it split apart and took a chunk out of one of the side panels. Not good and potentially dangerous. There’s also no pre-drilled holes or indicaters for the spacing of the slats. I was able to buy a metal slat insert to replace them that’s sturdy and works well but I shouldn’t have had to do that. In conclusion, the bed is still great with that one big caveat.
